School is over! Get ready to climb up in a high altitude excursion with your children in the wonderful scenery of Catinaccio – Latemar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

An easy 1.30 hour walk will lead you from Malga Frommer to our mountain hut at an altitude of 2,337 m. in the heart of Catinaccio. If you have little children (approximately under the age of 6) or you don’t feel like walking, you can experience the thrill of the “Re Laurino” cable car and enjoy breathtaking views over the mountain pastures while getting directly to the “Fronza alle Coronelle” chalet.
At dusk you can admire the Enrosadira and discover the Legend of King Laurin.
Enrosadira is a Ladin term referring to the amazing and unique flaming sunset over the Catinaccio peaks.
Then you and your children can taste a typical dinner in the heart of the Dolomites and experience the mountain hut life. Let yourselves be pampered by our local specialities: cheese, speck or spinach canederli, venison tagliatelle, polenta (cornmeal mush) with roe deer, mushrooms and melted cheese, the traditional Kaiserschmarren and homemade cakes.
Before retiring to one of our comfortable rooms don’t miss the chance to gaze at the starry night in the quiet darkness surrounding the chalet.
In the morning we will wake you up with a delicious and hearty breakfast, which will fill you up with energy to enjoy a full day of excursions.

HOW TO GET HERE AND SOME USEFUL INFORMATION
- From the A22 Brennero motorway take the Bolzano Nord exit and continue through the Val d’Ega. Before getting to Costalunga Pass, turn left towards Via Nigra to reach Malga Frommer.
- From Trento, drive to Vigo di Fassa and continue towards Costalunga Pass, then take Via Nigra to reach Malga Frommer.
WILL YOU WALK UP TO THE HUT?
Parking is provided at the departure of the Re Laurino cable car (opposite to Malga Frommer). Leaving from there, an easy 1.30 hour walk on number 1 hiking trail will lead you to the “Fronza alle Coronelle” mountain hut.
WILL YOU TAKE THE CABLE CAR?
Parking is provided at the departure of the Re Laurino cable car (opposite to Malga Frommer), which will take you straight to the “Fronza alle Coronelle” mountain hut.
Children under 6 (accompanied by their parents or grandparents) travel free, those under 14 travel at reduced fare for a round trip.
